About Me

I am a Kenyan born and bred in coast region of Kenya. I went to local schools and I did my secondary school examination in 2008.
I come from a large family of 8 where I am the forth born. My parents are small scale farmers and they largely depend on us children for their upkeep.
After my secondary education I worked as a casual laborer in small companies in Mombasa where the pay was very little. I finally decided to try my hand in business last year. I got my initial capital from savings I had make when I was I was employed. I sell second hand clothes and ladies handbags.

My Business

My business deals with buying and selling of secondhand clothes. I recently started selling handbags to supplement my income and the returns are impressive. I source my second hand clothes from local markets and the handbags from Uganda (neighboring country).

In a good month, make about a net profit of about $250. I face a number of challenges when running this business key among them lack of capital. With a much needed loan boost from Zidisha, I will be able to buy a bale of clothes which will definitely push my sales up since the goods is very popular with low income earners who are quite many in this area.

Loan Proposal

I deal with selling used clothes. My daily profit is about $10 but this can easily go up if I get more clothes in my shop. I am currently dealing with men's shirts and trousers a bit of ladies clothes. I also sell women's handbags though on a very small scale.

My plan is if I get this loan, I will be able to buy one bale of assorted used clothes which will cost me $135 and ultimately build capital which will enable me travel to Uganda which is a neighboring country and buy handbags for sale in my shop.

This way I will have made a big step forward in my business.

I hope you will consider funding my loan.

Thanks.

Dear Zidisha family. I have been unwell for the last two weeks where I suffered a serious bout of malaria. I am glad that after medication, I am now back on my feet but my condition affected my income negatively. I normally hawk my clothes from place to place and that means there was no income for me for the last couple of weeks since I was too sick to walk around. I am now okay and I have started to move around though in a very limited way. For this reason, I request that I reschedule my payment to KSH. 100.00 for now but I will resume my normal payments after 4 weeks or earlier depending on my condition. Thank you and I hope you will understand my situation,
