About Me

My name is Edwin Ouko,I was born in kisii County but migrated to Busia county later. I was born in a family of seven kids and I am the third born. I went to Nyambaria primary school and later joined Mukumu Boys High school.Thereafter I joined Egerton University to study animal health.
After college i started keeping poultry ,as source of livelihood ,with time I have expanded my business and currently I have 30 Birds
our society is full of unique culture including male circumscription and wild bird hunting.Elders also make traditional African brew for themselves and kids are not allowed anywhere near the dens.
I have one kid,she is called Netty. she wants to be a pilot when she grows up.

My Business

I am small holder commercial farmer,I keep layers.I always provide my neighborhood with eggs.Due to increase in temperatures and reduced rainfall most vegetables farmer are not able to meet the market demand, there due to scarcity residents have to seek for cheap alternatives and that is eggs.
I choose this business because I am an animal health expert and because the capital required is less intensive.I also want to inspire youths to come to the farms since i believe if every youth could keep 10 birds kenya will be food secure and no more malnutrition.
In a month I spend $40 on feeds and drugs ,my revenues are $100-$250 in a month. In a good month my profits are $210.
I use my profits to pay college fee for my sibling studying medicine at the University of Nairobi, pay fees for my daughter Netty as well as saving for expansion of the venture.

Loan Proposal

My name is Edwin Ouko,I am kindly requesting you to grand me a loan to add 50 more birds in my farm. This will be part of the expansion plan that will see my venture grow,I am planning to have 600 birds in the next one year.I will really appreciate your kindness and generosity.Thank you
