i am am Alex Mbuthia Karanu i reside in a village in the central part of Kenya.Currently am pursuing a Bachelors Of Commerce degree in The Technical University Of Kenya.Am the first born in the family of four this has made me responsible as i have to be a role model to my young ones.I ventured into farming while still at a tender age in high school.Since then i have no regrets as this has not be an uphill task as i came to realize i do what i like most.Farming was the right choice as land was available by the fact i reside in a rural area.Consequently marketing my farm products has not be an uphill task since i have high quality products this has won me loyal customers who live within my domain.The profits earned are mainly used to settle my school fees as well as my pocket money.My hobbies are mainly reading science articles and swimming.My passion is geared towards Agri-business.Lenders am on your shoes to make this passion a reality.

My Business

In my portfolio I have specialized in passion fruits, tomatoes, capsicums and strawberries. Earlier this year I interacted and shared a lot with farmers ,distributors, government agencies, regulating agencies, research and financial institutions on challenges and opportunities in agriculture. I received valued feedback from experienced agronomists which has greatly assisted me in improving my service delivery. Am keen in on emerging challenges in disease and pest control ensuring that I offer total solutions at the same time conserving the environment and human safety. Tomato production has been quite challenging but now it has ceased to be an uphill task on managing the tomato mosaic virus after an intensive training by Agriscope Agronomists on drenching the seedling after transplanting with Concord. My products are hot cakes due to their high quality and this has made it easy during marketing. I mostly sell them locally to my loyal customers and supply the surplus to the nearby supermarkets in town.My monthly income as well as my expenses are highlighted in their approximates as follows. Labour $80,Transport on products to my customers $140,electricity $20,fungicides and insectscides $150.Below are my monthly sales;passion fruits,250kg @ $1.08,Tomatoes 200 @ $1.5,Capsicums 240kg @ $1.05,Strawberries 200kg @ $1.55.Total revenue=$1132.Total expenses= $390 net profit=$742.

Loan Proposal

I have been facing great challenges on water storage this has in a way crippled my my efforts to get maximum yields as a result of inconveniences courtesy of inconvenient ways of water storage where i have improvised a small plastic tank which has not been quite effective.Your loan will be of great help since i plan to purchase a bigger plastic tank that will cost me about $90.
