About Me

I am the last born in a family of 10 children and grew at a place called Gilgil in Rift valley Kenya. After finishing primary education I could not advance to high school due to lack of school fees. I therefore came to Gilgil town to look for employment. I worked as a casual labourer for sometimes before learning my current trade, that is welding of motor vehicles. I currently live in Kasambara slum with my wife and three children. I hope to work very hard and give my children a better future than the one I went through. I want them to get good education and I also hope to provide for them good food, housing and other basic needs.

My Business

I do wielding of motor vehicles. I started this business in 2013 because I wanted to be self reliant and also my earnings from being employed were too little to cater for the needs of my family. Most of my customers are motor garage owners who bring to me vehicles which they are repairing especially for body works. Sometimes i also get orders to wield other metal objects such as iron doors and windows apart from motor vehicles. I am proud of my business because i repair broken items and give them a new lease of life. I make sure that they serve their owners as long as possible. In a good month i make profits of upto $ 150 which i use to buy materials and expand the business more and the rest i use it to cater for my family needs. Though My biggest challenge is lack of finances to expand my business since I would like to have more machines for wielding. In future I hope to expand and have more machines and serve more customers than currently. My business is doing really fine in that I am serving more customers since my welding cylinder is always stocked with gas.

Loan Proposal

Together with my savingsI will use the loan to purchase one more equipment for use at my business. I will buy one gas wielding machine to add onto what I already have because I have more customers to serve. This may cost me around $340 to buy a gas wielding cylinder and torch. The purchase will enable me to serve more customers leading to more sales and business stability and growth. I will also be able to buy more food for my family and pay school fees for my children at the same time repay the loan. Once again thanks the entire team of Zidisha and to all lenders
