About Me

Born and raised in a slum, within the environs of langata constituency. Studied at Uhuru Gardens primary school and scored highly, securing a place in a mission school, St. Kiburia Girls high school. Ever since primary education, life within the shanties was never easy particularly for the girl child. The general public perceived a girl growing in the slum, and with the ambition to excel academically was doomed to fail or drop out, because of sexual involvement with the young men that loitered around stealing and raping kids. I stayed positive, with the target of emulating fellow girls from the surrounding suburbs that attended the same school with me. With the right mother care and inspiration from a friend, who was from the same slum dwelling but excelled to the University level, i set a path to be exemplary for fellow girls and for my own satisfaction to study and build myself a career in this competitive country, where the traditional perception of the female figure is that of giving birth and taking care of the children. With hardwork and patience, i am now a third year student at Moi University pursuing Bachelor of Science in public relations and communication.
I admire beauty and elegance. From that passion i came up with the idea of selling beauty products to classmates and friends. Demand grew and I raised cash to open a beauty shop. Besides, i was ever splendid at doing salon work, hairdressing ladies. With that skill, i have managed to upkeep and even create job opportunities for my fellow needy girlfriends, especially those with a financially incapacitated background.
My tribe, the Kisii circumcise girls. The mutilation has seen many women suffer. I was lucky to have escaped the knife because my mother brought me to Nairobi at a tender age. I would like to inspire and motivate fellow girls through my education and innovation, build an empire and with hope of eradicating poverty for the schooling fellows and thwart the traditional norms that have left the girl child separated from humanity, neglected and constantly belittled by male dominance.
I am passionate about my friend and boyfriend who rose from the same slum, washing cars for a living, went to university and now an aspiring scientist. He was my role model and my mentor. He believes in equal rights and opportunities for the female figure and wit his ideology, innovation and education has been my weapon to fight poverty.

My Business

I sell beauty products. With the growing female population in my campus, and the campus being far from a town center, my venture has grabbed the niche of bringing these products at close proximity to the buyers. Campus girls love to look appealing and with that, I created my business opportunity. I chose this business because it needed a low start up capital and had the potential to grow exponentially because the campus runs a trisemseter program which meant and steady flow of clients. For an average stock worth Sh10,000 i make up to 5,500 or more depending on female population for that particular semester. The profits accrued partly meet my upkeep needs but most are re-injected back to other investments.

Loan Proposal

I have partitioned my beauty shop and created a salon. the salon has picked up well. However, i am losing clients because of my inability to provide certain needed services due to lack of the supporting stationery .
I urgently need to purchase a dryer, electric kettle, a steam jar, foot massage machine, hair products and towels to enable me provide these services. Acquisition of these stationary will expand my profit margin exponentially. I need a loan amounting $270 to adequately purchase these items.
My joy is seeing the talented and skillful hairdressers from my school make income from the little services they deliver within my enterprise. Personally, i enjoy the independence of being able to fend for myself at 20years of age, without necessarily having to depend on my parents. I implore you, the lenders, to fund my salon upgrade.
Thank you in advance and i look forward to a positive response.

I really need this finance to spearhead the project. I have to build this enterprise while I still have the opportunity. Please fund the project.
