I grew up in Murang'a County in a family of 12 children, being the 6th born. Life back then was not easy because whatever my parents made out of farming was not enough to cater for the needs of our large family. After clearing primary level of education,I was forced to drop out due to lack of fees. I the decided to set out for the city to look for employment. In the city,I was employed as a manual worker, where I later on got married and became a house wife.Unfortunately,a few years later,my husband passed on and I was forced to raise our two kids on my own.I therefore gathered some savings and grants from other well wishers and opened up a beauty shop, where I am to date. My dream for the future is to diversify my business and have outlets nationwide.
My business entails the sale of quality beauty products. I started the business in 2000 after my husband passed on in order to provide for my children. My biggest challenge so far has been the lack of capital for expansion. My customers are the immediate neighborhood around where my business operates. My dream for the future is to diversify my business and have outlets nationwide.
I intend to add more stock to my beauty shop, which will cost me about Ksh.10000.This will enable me to serve a larger volume of customers therefore driving in more revenue hence positive impact on both my family as well as the business.
