About Me

My name is Morton Chizunga. I was born on July 17th 1977. I have 3 children and I care for 2 orphans as well. I live in Manyaana Area in Mazabuka district in Southern Province. I am a farmer and I'm applying for this loan because I want to do trading in wholesale beans and kapenta (fish), while also investing in my children, my livestock, and my store. In my free time I am active in my Seventh Day Adventist church.

My Business

On my farm I'm growing maize, groundnuts, cowpeas, and sweet potatoes. I also keep chicken and goats. My wife and I also operate a store in Monze town that sells beans, kapenta (dried fish), and cooking oil. With my first loan I was able to pay my sons school fees while also expanding my business and saving some more money. I was able to invest money in rental property I am building in Monze. My second loan allowed me to invest even more into my children's education and my business did very well. I hope that with this third loan, I will be able to add more inventory to my shop and bring in more income.

Loan Proposal

With this loan, I would like to add more inventory to my business. I currently sell beans, kapenta (dried fish), and maize (which I added with my last loan). With this loan I can also add cooking oil and other goods. Eventually, I would like to expand my business to be more than selling these foods in the market, it will take time and hard work to save up for my future, but with this loan I am able to help pay for the education of my children and run my business without worrying about money. Thank you and god bless!

I see that you are making reduced payments. Very good! However, please contact Zidisha and get the terms of your loan changed to equal your reduced payments. If you change the term of your loan to a longer payback time and smaller payments, you can maintain a better credit score. Credit score is very important for obtaining future loans.

I am doing well with my loan and business right now. It was a little difficult at the beginning this time because the rains ended later than usual and we couldn't get to town to buy some items until a later time. However now things are going well!

Dear lenders thank you very much for helping me with this loan. This is my second loan with zidisha and the first time I was able to pay back on time every week and I will do it again. I will use this loan to buy some more stock for my store and also to buy maize as the price for resale right now is high. Thank you! God bless!
