About Me

My name is Vincent Mutinda, I am born into a family of six children, I have three brothers and two sisters. I am 25 years of age. I started going to school when I was four years of age. I did my primary school and secondary school. After which I joined college and graduated with a higher diploma certificate in Information Technology (IT). with this knowledge,have tried to go from one office to another in such for employment but all this ended-up in vain when i fell from a third floor in one of the tallest building in town,luckily i was not badly injured,i was treated and by Gods grace am okay.from that time i stopped looking for employment and started looking for some ways that can give me income.

Doing my studies in college my parents were not able to support me financially. This was very sad but I was able to understand my parents' financial constraints they were at that time. I had to find a way out. I was good in athletics and I used to do run in the afternoon. My colleagues had problems of printing out assignments. There was one cybercafe near the school and the rest were far from the college. I had to turn my running into business. My colleagues put the documents in the flash disk and gave it to me to me to go and print for them in town. I did this several times and I saved a lot of money. In my final year, I purchased one computer and a printer. This made things easier for me. I started generating income, I was not straining anymore. I was now doing running for exercise and not business anymore. This is how I overcame my challenges and it is exactly how I came to start my business.

In my culture, many people occupy a very small piece of land. This is due to polygamy of my culture. Polygamy is permitted and considered wealth when having many children. You will find that in a small piece of land you can find a whole family gathered and living there. People run short of land. In a small room you can find 10 people living in the room. Moreover,many people are not learned.this makes imposable to share some ideas like this skills of computer.using some terminologies requires one to use vernacular language for them to understand. but believe me you when they have understood, they become so clever and innovative,they can sometimes rectify me when i make a mistake.i find this so unique since i need not to repeat a thing once i have thought them.

My Business

I do offer internet access and photocopy services in my Cybercafe. This is a business of my choice since it rescued me financially when I was in college. I put computers and install internet for people to come and browse/surf then pay me for the time they have used in the internet. Installing internet is not such expensive because I do purchase bundles and then my customer come and browse. I charge money depending on the time used by a customer while browsing. This brings me income in a tremendous way because when I buy bundles I get it in a wholesale prices and it is like when people browse I do sell the bundles in retail price. Doing this way generates income.

Offering cybercafe services is on high demand. Every one, especially students are my most targeted customers. They come and browse for their research work in the cybercafe. Students do not afford doing without internet because everything about students is internet connected. Many people come to browse, receiving and sending their documents through internet in my cybercafe.

My monthly expenditures of buying internet bundles, buying ink for my printer and photocopier machines, and paying for rent and license costs me a total of $60, however the total money that I collect from the business is $110, this brings me a revenue of $50. In fact, I use this revenue to reinvest in the business and also meet my daily needs such as food and transport.

Loan Proposal

I will use the money that you will give to me to purchase the following items for my cybercafe: 4 internet cables that will cost $20 and buy internet bundles that will cost $20. The remaining $10 I will do the internet installation and this will cost me $10.

In a month I generate an revenue of $50-$60. This revenue will bring me significant benefits for me. I will use this revenue to pay for my weekly loan repayments and cater for personal expenditures. I will also use the revenue to reinvest into the business for the expansion of business.

For my cybercafe customers will benefit a lot from the cybercafe. My cybercafe charges are affordable and my clients benefit from it. Since I am installing new cables and putting enough bundles, they will not face any inconvenience while browsing, the speed of the internet will be high so my customers browsing will not find themselves spending much from what they are anticipating to spend.
