I am Mesahck Oramisi ,I was born and raised up in kenya ,kisumu Nyalenda Estate. I the fourth born in a family of 9 children,my dad was a fisher man and my mum does fish business. My dad passed on in a boat accident in 2013 when I was at college and so I had to differ my studies as he was the sole bread winner.
I come back home in 2011 and started helping my mother in her fish business so that we could help pay fees for my siblings ,we moved them to affordable schools. I I took a loan from my youth group that I used to buy my first batch of fish .I bought 50kgs $200 and sold it out to hotels ,however my second batch did not sell out and I run into big losses.I did not give up but both 10Kgs and started once again.I now sell fish in Nairobi city market and stock between 100kgs -200kgs daily.
I live in the shows of the great lake Victoria, the major economic activity is fishing, people here are kind and loving ,we always welcome visitors.
I like watching soccer, and hanging out with friends during my free time.
I sell fresh fish to my clients both in kisumu and nairobi. my clients include hotels and individuals.I use ice to preserve my fish so that they get to the customers in fresh condition.
The demand for fish is high because most people prefer white meat to read meat as a source of proteins.
I grew up in a fish environment, loved what my parents were doing and so i find it easily to fit in their shoes.
I spend $300 on daily basis sell the fish at $ 315-$320 .I make about $15 daily. I use my revenues to pay fees for my siblings and pay for my own fees.
hey lenders,I am requesting for a loan to add dried fish to my business.I currently sell only fresh fish and the demand for dry fish has gone up,I have $100 saving at the moment and would add the loan to it so that I can start the new business line. I expect my income to rise tremendously after introducing these new business. Thank you in advance.
