About Me

My name is Mary Adhiambo. I am 45years old. I was born in monogamous family and I am the third born in a family eight. My dad was an Administrative Police Officer while my mum is a house wife. My dad was killed in aborted coup attempt in 1982 while on duty in Nairobi. I went to Aluor girls secondary school in Kisumu. I later joined Asumbi technical college where I pursued diploma in dressing making..
After completing my diploma in 1990. I looked for a job with no success. I finally landed a job in late 1993 but the payments was so poor. In early 2000, with $120 savings from my previous employment I bought a sewing machine,I could not afford a premise by then so I used to work from my mums house. I did quality work and advertised my business, and with a few months I got so many referrals and my business was booming. I rented a small shop in our shopping center ,that I use for my business.
I like dancing ,singing, meeting new people and reading novels.

My Business

My business entails designing and dress making. The clients describe what they want,I design and get back to them. if they approve my work then I go ahead to make the dress, using there preferred materials.
Designed dresses are very important in the society today as most people prefer to wear what they like . I produce good quality work to help me retain my clients as well as get referrals to new clients.
In a month i spend $150 on buying materials, electricity and machine maintenance ,my monthly revenue average is $300. I make average $180 in profits
I use my profits to pay school fees for my sister a,save for business expansion and take care of my families general expenses.

Loan Proposal

When I get this loan,it will help me improve on my school uniform project in the following ways; raw materials estimated at 80 dollars and paying for workshop extensions at the balance of 20 dollars. Despite the fact that I still have deficit of about 50 dollars for value added school uniform and am happy that through this loan I will be able to see some of the followings the returns the loan will create; branded school T-shirts and blouses that will help me get a bigger and better market since there ares more schools are in my neighborhood, the expected benefit is likely to shoot up especially when school uniform are branded which will see me making almost double the input. The returns will then help expand my workshop by increasing the number of different garments and also employ a few people.
I need support because I can't afford single handed to meet full financial requirements of the raw materials due to the increased costs of products.
