About Me

I am Nelly Chepkemoi, I was born in Molo District, Nakuru County. I am born third to a family six children, three sisters and two sisters. My parents are really blessed and they are still alive. I went to Kolonges primary school in Molo District and later I joined Nakuru girls high school. I also later joined Rift Valley Institute of Business and Accountancy where I pursued Diploma in Business Administration in Eldoret.

My parents were unable to start business for me so I looked for a job of which I ended up working in the agrovet shop selling livestock products. I did this for six months and my employer wanted to sell out the whole shop to someone else. He thought I would not afford to buy the shop because at that time I was just an employee. I asked him if he could sell the shop to me because I thought I was risking losing a job. He was so depressed and he ended up giving me to pay on installment. We wrote an agreement showing that I was the owner and since then I own the agrovet shop. I finished paying the installment. This also gives me the assurance that I will be able to pay any loan that I will receive from you. This is How I came to start the business. it to me.

In my culture, people circumcise women. It was my time to be circumcised but I did run a way from home. After two years taking refuge in my uncle's place I came back home and I was too old to be circumcised and they got scared of circumcising me.

I hope my children will be farmers and others will be business people because I am good in leadership. My hobby is to mingle socially with different people.

My Business

In my agrovet shop, I do sell products that are used mainly by livestock. Mainly farmers are the ones purchasing the products from the agrovet. My products include: antibiotics, wormers, feeds and hormonal among other products

These products are on high demand and useful to my customers. They do care for their livestock and that makes them have no other option than purchasing livestock products. For livestock to live healthy they must be treated and thus, farmers come to buy products from my shop.

My monthly stock for my agrovet shop is approximately $400. When I do my calculations I noticed that in a month I make a revenue of $60-$70. Some products are fast moving products because livestock use them regularly. I use this revenue to pay rent for my shop, cater for my food, transport and clothing.

Loan Proposal

I will use the money to add stock to my business. I will purchase 5 cartons of antibiotics for livestock that will cost me $20 and I will buy 5 bags of feeds that will cost me $15 and I will buy wormers for De-worming livesstock that will cost $15.

This will drastically increase my business and income. When I sell the mentioned products I will get a profit of $60 in a month. I will, therefore,use this revenue to pay my weekly installment of repaying loans that I will receive from you. Moreover, I will use the remaining revenue to pay rent for my shop, cater for my food, transport and clothing.

My customers who are mainly farmers will benefit from my agrovet shop because I travel to bigger town to buy the products and bring near them. They will not spend transport to traveling to big town to buy the products thus making them save more and purchase more products.

With time I do hope that my business will grow to another level both in stock and in generating income. I expect my profit to drastically increase to more than 50%. I, therefore, look forward to receiving this support of loans from you. I want to achieve my 2015 goals.
