About Me

I am the second born in a family of three. I was born and brought up in the village by my single dad who is a peasant farmer. He managed to educate me until I attained a bachelor‘s degree in education. After my studies, I got a job as a teacher and from there I started a general shop to improve my earnings get a better life. I use the profits to expand my business to a reputable size so that I can generate more and create more employment to the people affected by great unemployment levels in our country.

My Business

I run a general shop as my business, with a total monthly income of around 1200 dollars out of which 700 dollars is profit. I am advantaged to operate in an area with high population and a high demand for basic commodities and low competition. I always ensure excellent customer relations and also I provide goods at very fair prices therefore ensuring that I maintain my customers. Expenses in my business include rent, electricity and water that take up to 150dollars. I also restock every month the commodities that include flour, water, rice, sugar, soap among others. The risks the business faces include price fluctuations and changes in customer demands. These are handled by buying stock in bulk when prices are fair to avoid very high prices that in turn affect customers and buying commodities that customers need at different times respectively. In case I do not get enough profits to repay the loan, I will use my salary from teaching to repay it.

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to add different varieties of cereals to my grocery shop. The cereals that I wish to add include lentils, peas, and different varieties of beans that my customers demand. The cereals, including 2 bags of lentils, 2 bags of peas, and 5 bags of different varieties of beans will cost approximately $120 in total. Adding more stock of cereals in my grocery shop will help meet the rising demand of cereals from my customers. Due to the lack of sufficient stock, some of my customers are forced to travel to the main market, which is costly and inconvenient for them. Hence, I intend to use the loan to improve access of commodities to the customers as I grow my business too, therefore enhancing convenience for my customers. Moreover, the additional cereals will play a vital role in growing my business, which is essential in creating job opportunities for the unemployed youths. I expect the loan to help my business grow and achieve a profit growth of 40%.

    Hello Zidisha Team,

    Hello Zidisha Team,
Thank you for funding my project. First, let allow me to apologize for delaying the payments. However, this is not intentional. My business has been doing so badly recently to a point I'm unable to make enough for my instalments. However, I'm working on a different plan, and I promise to resume making payments as soon as possible. Kindly bear with me.

    Kind Regards.

    Hello my lenders,
I'm hoping this finds you well. First, let me apologize for delaying payments. However, I'm having challenges with my business, since sales are abnormally low this month. I was hoping that I could pay off my arrears within the month, but it has become very difficult to make enough to settle the arrears. However, I'm working on a marketing plan, and I'm positive that things will begin working soon. I am therefore adjusting my instalments amount for the next two payments as I find a way to clear my arrears. Kindly understand.
    Regards

    Hello,
I hope this finds you well. I'm so thankful for the loan you gave me because it has really helped me grow my business. However, the business has not been making enough money to allow me to pay back my installments because of the interruptions caused by the festive season. The majority of my customers traveled for their holidays, and the business has been really struggling to stay afloat. The good news is that business is beginning to improve in performance as my clients are back to work. Hence, I'd like to change my installment amount to 867, as I work towards ensuring that I will not delay payments in the future.

Thank you for your patience and this opportunity to adjust my installments.
    Regards

Thank you all for funding my project. I will buy equipment (deep fryer, potato cutter, and a food warmer/display) to start a fast food retail business. There is a rising demand for fast foods in my area. With that, I will create more employment opportunities for young people in my locality. Thank you for supporting my dream.

The investment that I made turned out well. However, I am experiencing challenges in my business as I was currently robbed of most of the stock. However, I have managed to use part of my savings to restock, but the shop is not performing well since I am yet to restock some of the products. I hope that the business picks well so that I am able to repay the money on a timely basis. Kindly accept my plea to adjust my loan installment from 2500 to 500, so that I can continue paying effectively as I look forward for the business to go back to its original state.

    Dear Lenders,
I wish to thank you for the previous loan, which enabled me to introduce low cost sanitary towels to my shop. The loan not only helped me to grow the business, but it also helped in raising the living standards for my customers, who are low income earners, hence they cannot afford high cost sanitary towels. I look forward to your continued support, as I focus on raising the wellbeing of my surrounding community through the increased earnings.
