My name is Charity Wanje Chitonga. Am a widow with five children, three boys and two girls. I managed to finish primary Education but i didnt get the oppotunity to join secondary due poverty. I was employed as a lower primary teacher in a private school. I was not lucky enough because i got an accident which kept me indoors for months. After recovery i started my ouwn local nursery school with only one class. I have really moved on because now am having a fully kinddergaten school (baby Class, KG1,KG2,KG3) with about 125 students. And i have also managed to pay for my children school fees with the business. I want to develop my school into a full educational institution.
I run a local kindergaten school (nursery school) with three classes. I have about 125 students age ranging from 6months to five years. Most parents in the area are working and therefore they cannot stay with their children and many of them prefer to them them to school rather than to stay at home with a maid. Because it is cheeper to take your child to school than to employ a maid. In my school i dont charge addmission fee but i charge then monthly school fees depending on which class the student is. Baby class is Ksh 500 and KG1, KG2 and KG3 is 1000 each. In a month i make about Ksh 90000. I have three teachers i pay them Ksh 10000 each. I buy playing toys, stationary, education materials of about Ksh 20000 a month. In a month i make savings of about Ksh 40000.
Again thanks Zidisha and the lenders for giving me your loan and also your trust in me. I want to buy stationary and also make children desks and teacher's drawer and also continue to built more classes because next year I will be taking new students and also expand the school and also help the community because I don't charge much like other schools.
