I was born in 1988 in Kandutura farm which is in Rongai district Nakuru County. I started my primary education at Therandu primary school from 1993 to 2000 when I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. In school, I was very good at Netball although I was short but I was very tough in this game. Because of the financial problem I didn’t continue with the secondary education and I was forced to stay at home helping my parents because I was still young. After two years at home, my parents decided to take me to a hair dressing course which I takesme one year.
After completing my course, I was employed in a local saloon for I could not afford to start my own saloon. I was employed for two years after which I started my own saloon. I faced a lot of challenges as a young lady but I managed to go through and right now my business is stable.
I was married by the man whom I loved and we were blessed with two handsome boys but after 5 years of our marriage the same man stared the problem which brought our separation. I am single but self-reliable and I thank my God for He has given me that courage of taking care of my two boys.
As per above, after completing my hair dressing course, I was employer for two years which was part of field experience. I learned a lot and interacted with different character of people and this gave me experience of handling the customers. I also learned different styles from customers and I liked the job very much. Although I was not all that educated, I used to dress educated and V.I.P. people which gave me courage that I will make it.
After finishing the second year being employed, it came a time of making it real when I opened my own Saloon where I am up to date. Although there is competition, I do get customers because of the good language I used and the way I handle them. Also because I have knowledge of dressing different styles which they like most, they do come to me and when they go they tell others I am a good dresser.
From what I get in my businessit helps me to pay business house rent, buy stock , take my two boys to school pay my debts, save among other things.
My business is located at Waka Center about 8 km from Rongai town on the way to Visoi. It is not a big center but the rate of growth is very high.
Although the amount is very little from my expectation, i will buy some of materials that is required by my business. It will assist me to move a step forward and mostly this time that the economy of my country is effected from the post election. Hoping that Lenders will give their bids and I will appreciate for it. Thanks.
