About Me

I am Patrick. I am a barber and I do my work in the coastal city of Mombasa. I am married and my wife works in a local hotel.

I was born in a place called Kirinyaga on the slopes of mount Kenya. This a place with a great agriculture potential and naturally my parents are farmers. I spent my early years helping them with field work such as weeding and harvesting of crops.

I went to primary and secondary school and then relocated to Mombasa where I learned how to shave different styles. I was able to open my own business and I am glad I have kept the business going for the last 5 years.

My Business

I charge a fee for shaving my clients. The charges range from USD 1 for children to USD3 for male adults and USD 4 for female adults. I am able to attend between 8 - 10 clients per day and this gives me an average income of about USD 25 per day.

I use this income to pay rent and other business expenses. I use the balance to support my family and when I do send some money to my parents when the business is booming.

I hope to buy better equipment in future to increase my efficiency and that is why I have joined Zidisha for credit.

Loan Proposal

My business is doing well and I want to get an extra worker who will be working when the barber shop is very busy. I need an extra shaving machine will will cost me about $50. I will add the balance from my savings to make this possible. This will make it possible for me to attend more clients at a shorter time and this will in turn give me more income and provide a part-time job for one worker.

Thank you for your continued support.
