About Me

My name is Prince Apeti Dodzi. I was born from a family of four, three girls and I. My father died when i was six. I grew up in a village called 'Mepe' in the Volta Region of Ghana. I attended the Roman Catholic primary, junior high and senior high school. Am now married with a baby boy called Alvin. When i was young i had interest in animals so i use to take care of my fathers chicken and ducks, he normally rear them for domestic use, after he passed away, i had the challenge to take it to a higher level so i could sell some for my school fee and to support my mum as well. i later met a man named Henry who lived in the next village, he had four ostriches which i always go there to help him feed them after school. he later gave me one as a way of appreciation to my help in raising them. I had a little challenge in raising it since its way of vaccine and feed were a little expensive. thanks to Zidisha i was able to get a loan from them, i was able to care for it and i now have four, i was also able to start a new pigeon farmwith the interest made from the ones i sold. Talking about uniqueness, our land has a almost seven islands and a river. My child will like to become a national geography photographer. I ussually had a good time having a swimming competetion with my friends.

My Business

Fish farming and crop farming have been the main source of income in my community, But i choose to raise animals, Turkey and ostrich to be specific. I choose that because it's more challenging and extraordinary in my community. people come to visit just to see how they look like. The egg shell are used as crafts which also attracts tourism. i use part of the income made from the profit to reinvest in the farm, save some and the rest for family issues. Currently am practicing pigeon farming. its also very good and challenging as well. i always like to choose this types of farming because it serves as a tourist attraction to my village.

Loan Proposal

i will be much glad to buy extra animal feed like sweet corn, garden crap, tomatoes and medicine for my beds.i will also use some to buy new feed bowls and water bowls. buying these new bowl may help in their health a swell as the vaccines. i expect to make more profit than before since i have new beds hatched.
