About Me

My names are peter manyara wambui, am fourty- two years old , am a father of four that is two boys and two girls, am come from Nyandarua but I reside in Nakuru lanet area. Am a rabbit farmer a project I started one year ago to support other farming activities that I also run. This initiative has almost become my mainstay since then. I , my wife and my children work together to ensure the rabbits have been fed. I did my high school education fifteen years ago and I was not able to proceed to post-secondary education due to financial constraints having though passed for the same. Due to pressing needs to raise my family, I had to look for various opportunities to meet them. The campaign for white meet was initiated and rabbit meet was highly advocated. A pilot project was to be started, I was given this role as a pioneer breeder in our area, and the project became a success.

My Business

As a renowned rabbit breeder and a farmer, the need for this animals rearing and eating has risen with a great margin since this practice was introduced three years ago. It is therefore for that reason that I’d like to humbly request for a zidisha loan to finance this needs. I deal with all breeds of high-breed rabbits namely; Flemish giant, califonia red, chinchilla, newzeland white e.t.c . Rabbit meet have been highly advocated for as being number one white meet and the demand for it I huge. Being a pioneer breeder I have an edge over other few farmers since am able to offer all breeds that clients needs. Also with the introduction of rabbit meet processing factory in Gilgil which target a production and packaging of 100 kg per day this opens for a huge opportunity for me to breed more rabbit to meet this need. We normally sell rabbit in kilograms whereby a kilogram ranges from 300 to 500 shillings depending on a breed to be sold. Therefore selling a rabbit daily will amount to a sale of 1500 to 2500 shilling a day.
