About Me

My names are Peter Kamau and a resident of Karagita in Naivasha. Am married with two daughters. One is in standard one while the other is only three years old. I am an artisan and eke my living by repairing padlcoks, locks and cutting keys. My job is very tedious and involves a lot of analytical thinking. I serve my customers on a first come first serve basis. The reason why I went into business is because jobs are hard to come by and learnt by appreticeship about repairing padlocks, locks and cutting keys and then started off on my own. `

My Business

As I have stated, my business is through hand work. I operate in an open area jua kali shade in Karagita market in Naivasha town. I purchase the most sought tri-cirlce and locks uncut keys and padlocks from wholesale markets in nairobi. There is a very high demand for such services in naivasha as most people in the event of losing keys opt to go for cut keys instead of purchasing new padlocks. Therea are no many of us in this business and so there is potential for growth. Given a loan from zidisha, I intend to purchase new stocks and advertise my products more and more. That way I will net high sales revenue and thus more business. The only risk my business faces is when shrewed people in liason with local authorities come and evict us from our place of work thus disorientating our businesses. I earn around seven hundred on a daily basis and use the money on food, house , clothing and on education of my daughter.
