My name is JARED BANG'I a Kenyan citizen and married with Two kids . Actually I live in Nakuru County in Tanners Next to Kabtembwo estate. I did my form four only due to financial problems and joined red cross where I did my course of dealing with disaster management. This became my profession since I did it with passion. However, there has been so many challenges in this field due to competition since most people do this course after they have done their form four exam and therefore the employment opportunities become very minimal due to high population with such a profession and as mostly instutions that I aim ar N.GO's.
This forced me to start a small business where I own a small poshomill after I got a loan from angaza self help group. Here is where am getting my dairy bread as well as sustaining my business.
From my earnings I have managed to purchase a hauler that change flour from number one to number two which is mostly consumed by most of my clients.
Currently I have a small poshomill . My poshomil is normally known as UNGA TAMU POSHOMILL . I do sell flour to customers in Kilos and also to other people who wants 90kg sacks eg retailer shops, schools and other instituons when they have functions. I have many customers since I don't select the one who are buying many kilos or sacks, I do treat them equally and therefore attracting more customers. This has helped me since most people who are in the same business favour the customers who are buying in large quantities and this discourages the customers who want small quantities.
This business is not bad since I normally collect the maize early before all the farmers harvest hence I got the maize with a very lower cost. After I normally sell in form of flour where I made high profits.
I may buy one sack of maize at Ksh.1800 direct from the farmers and manage to sell it at Ksh.3000 thus making supernormal profit.
As soon as I receive the loan I will go and buy maize from where they are currently harvesting in most places like Molo where I have done my research maize is very cheap during this harvesting season, from there I have get two tenders from my neighbor school to supply them with flour for this financial year 2013.As i will supplying flour there will be sufficient cash to pay the loan as well buy more maize from the remaining profit hence to meet all my clients needs.
