About Me

We live in Afenatess, a village located in the department of Abalak in the Tahoua region. I am a jeweler and I create jewels. I went to primary school. The reason why I started a business is to meet the expenses of my family and parents. My parents are old. I take care of their food, their clothes and even of the food of their animals, because they are nomads. Il alway take care of the expenses of my family. I have 3 children. I pay their school, clothing, medicines and the food for them and for my wife. With the loan I will buy silver metal to create the jewels that will bring me a lot of money.

My Business

I work in the Musée National de Niamey. I create jewels as I said before, such as earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, a whole range of products. There is a demand because we offer real beautiful jewels. Our clients prefer our jewels because it is qualitative work and we give them a warm welcome with Tuareg tea. There are not many risks. Our business is profitable because we create beautiful products. The expenses and revenues are variable and depend on the period of the year, but the benefits are notable.

Loan Proposal

With this loan I will be able to first of all finish the jewels I have started to create two weeks ago. Because I have not enough funds I haven't been able to finish them. So now, as soon as I receive the loan I will buy the material that I need to finish them and also I will buy pure silver to create new jewels. Thanks to this loan I will be able to generate a lot of money.

    Dear lenders,
My name is Mien, I am Client Relationship Manager for Zidisha in West-Africa. You may have been wondering why this loan, that has been fully financed since a while and also has been accepted by the borrower, has not been disbursed yet. Since one month we have been negotiating with our partner bank in Niger about free disbursement of our loans. The bank has charged us 11900 FCFA (23,60 USD) for each of the first disbursements we did in Niger. It is clear that Zidisha can't accept such fees and we don't want our borrowers to pay them either. Negotiations go on and may result in the decision to start a partnership with a new bank in Niger. We hope to find a solution during the next few days, in order to disburse this and all the other loans in Niger, and in order to guarantee the future development of our Niger program.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

Thanks for letting us know I was just wondering why these loans hadn't been picked up. Such a shame for the lenders.
