About Me

I was born in Kokuro village of Migori County in 1978. I schooled at kokuro primary, Kokuro secondary and did my KCSE in 1996. I studied medical missionary work in a church owned institution and qualified as a community health worker. in addition, i also have a certificate in ICT. This is where i was taught a bit of entrepreneurship.In order to help my community, i decided to bridge the gap in healthcare by starting a small medicine shop ( chemist) with the help of my wife who is a pharmacist.For more than 7 years, the chemist has been operational and has been the strength of our family and a great source of wealth and health to the community. our community is agricultural and farming is the daily business. People have neglected to care for their health. This is the window i used in order to start this chemist. We sell on the counter drugs such as painkillers and many others. my family depends entirely on this venture for daily upkeep and future development.

My Business

This business was started as a family business with the start up capital of 5000/= from our small saving. I started by providing painkillers to the community members who worked long hours in their farms. When demand for other drugs grew, there was need for expansion, which I embraced and opened this shop. I sell children medication, painkillers, antibiotics, because I have understood the health needs of my community. I also sell distilled water. I capitalized on the need that existed. The total operational cost as at now is 50,000/= worth of stock up from the initial 5000/=. when i purchase medication worth 20,000/= I get a profit of 7000/= which supports the family a bit in food and clothing since our daughter isn't going to school yet, but we save for her education which will start in January 2016. we have saved for her 800 monthly without fail, and used the rest of the money for home improvement and re investment.

Loan Proposal

since most patients come to my chemist for consultation and buying drugs, i want to buy a BP machine to check their blood pressure at a small fee of 50 KES. I will also buy a glucometer to check their blood sugar levels at a fee of 100 KES. These two machines will cost $200 each, totaling $400. It will add value to my chemist and attract more people not only for business but also for helping them in my community know about health principles as concerns these diseases and more. I will also venture in doing health expos at community level, in schools and churches and buy business will grow immensely. My profit will increase by 300%
