About Me

My mother and father were both farmers. My mother never schooled while my father managed just lower primary school level of education. We are seven siblings in my family.I have two brothers and four sisters. All my sisters have been married off.My two brothers are operating businesses in the center nearby home.Myself iam a farmer.I took after my parents.I started farming when just in class four.My parents introduced us into farm-work at an early age.During the planting and harvesting season we participated actively. My brothers and i took care of our dairy cows during weekends and school holidays. We never had a Television set nor fancy sits in our home.Luxuries were not heard off.In fact we slept on cattle and goat skins in the kitchen. But it did not look odd during that time because half of our village mates had the same kind of life.Nonetheless we all went to school up to form four.I had desired to go into proper farming and commercialize my farm activities to get better results .I engage the agriculture officer in my sub county from the on set. From soil testing to determining what to grow when and how.How to manage the crop till harvest.I just liked farming.Agriculture was my favorite subject in school and i knew deep down this is what i want to do later in life.I like very much to engage with men of my age and discuss politics and other pertinent issues affecting our community.I married my sweet heart one year ago and we are expecting our first born child.

My Business

Am a farmer.I do my farming in a very professional manner because i engage the agriculture officers in my Subcounty actively in my farming activities.I sell food crops that i grow.I wish to be part of my county becoming a food secure county.I have started a farmers association where we are engaging farmers to look at farming as an income generating activity and not just for subsistence reasons.I liked farming it was my best subject .I was introduced to it early and i liked it.My typical costs are mainly in seeds, fertilizer, weeding ,tilling, consultation fees and pesticides. The cost is per project until harvest.I have planted a two acre maize plantation. My costs as at now is KES 30,000 minus the harvesting, storage costs. My expected revenue from this maize crop is KES 120,000 for the two acres.I plan to invest back to farming and start a dairy project put up a good shed for the cows .

Loan Proposal

I plan to buy a 32 feet barbed wire to fence off my farm to keep off animal and human pests. The cost of the barbed wire is $ 40 in total. It will secure my crop and ensure its proper growth is not interfered with by straying cattle and other people .It will ensure a good harvest which means an improved harvest.I expect a bumper harvest and to achieve my expected revenue of $ 1,200.
