About Me

I am a diligent, hardworking, honest and respectful Kenyan Man by the name SILAH.Brought up in a Christian background as the first born of 7 children consisting of 4girls and 3 boys. In my upbringing, I was taught to be independent and it was a great motivation especially having to learn it first hand from the environment. This more so influenced my hardwork and independence in life
I started school in 1991 in neighborhood school by the name Ebulondi Primary school in Vihiga and completed in 1999 in the primary level. This is was a Christian based school and as children, we were taught behavioral norms as well as good Christian practices. this enabled me to have a great focus in life,to get to know that the good things in life don’t just come in a silver platter, we all have to work, not only hard for them, but smart to achieve them. This was a great motivation thus it gave me self-drive and a sense of direction in life.
I later joined Esalwa High school in 2000 and completed in 2003,later in 2005, I joined Moi University and pursued Bachelor of Education Science which I graduated in Dec 2009,this helped me grow as an individual.
Later in 2010 i worked at Magharibi Service station as a Supervisor which made me be business minded also enabled me interact with the young minds and make an impact in their lives

My Business

My business is Mpesa agency. In Kenya, Mpesa is everything. Commercial banks here failed to penetrate the country's towns in time therefore when Mpesa came along it swept everyone in such that Mpesa handles the bulk of daily money transactions by people countrywide. In Mpesa I have to commit a certain amount of cash (popularly known as Float ) that i utilise in both withdrawals & deposits by customers. In turn I receive a commission from the service provider ( Safaricon) at the end of the month. Consequently, shortage of 'float' is a hinderance if I am to realize any meaningful profits at month end. In addition, low 'float' amount discourages many customers as they have a preset mind that they are coming but you could me lacking the right amount they wish to transact with. However, I cant complain as am hardworking enough that i generate much for someone of my 'float' level.

Loan Proposal

In Mpesa, I have to commit a certain amount of cash (popularly known as Float ) that i utilise in both withdrawals & deposits by customers. In addition, low 'float' amount discourages many customers as they have a preset mind that they are coming but I could me lacking the right amount they wish to transact with. However, with a boosted 'float amount' I am confident that my profits will improve reasonably. Thanks to this loan from Zidisha I will achieve this milestone.

      Hi Calvero,

Sorry for spotting your post this late. As a VM or borrower I am unable to subscribe on profiles therefore I have to manually check the profiles.
I know Silah, my invitee , has been repaying quite irregularly lately. But, I am relieved that he has now recovered.
Feel free to inquire directly on my loan profile so I can give you a real-time update on his situation.

Thank you again for supporting most of my friends on Zidisha ( especially Lisa, Wilson and Silah ).

      VM Shehi.

Dear Silah, how's your business? Did you have enought float this month to increase your profit? I see you are behind in your repayment schedule. Is there any reason for this?

This year i need expand my customer base to accomodate new customers. I must maintain higher 'float' at all time so that i accept larger withdrawals & deposits, more transactions and start stocking phone accessories like covers and batteries. I also must install neon signs to attract the night time customers. Looking forward to actualising these changes through the loan funding right now. I'll appreciate your support.
