I am 40 yrs old, married with two daughters, i work with macken services as a driver and i have a small business which i run along with my wife. I have a small shop where i sell basic household items and foods in the slums of Mukuru in Nairobi. i started the business to supplement the income which i earn as a driver which is not enough to feed and educate my children.
I sell consumable goods like soaps, sugar, cooking fat, sodas, salt, tissues and all other small basic items the good are in high demands as this is a highly populated area and people buy what they use on daily basis as this area is inhabited by poor and casual workers. i have many customers as i have been running this business for more than ten years and many customers are my neighbors and i know them personally, the business is profitable as the goods i sell are packaged in small quantities so i sell many units and they are basic family needs. In a month i buy stock worth about 60000 [672 USD] which i sell at about 80000- 90000 [896-1008 USD], i make a profit of 10000-15000 [112 - 168 USD] after deducting my costs of rent and transport and other expenses
Lenders I am looking for a loan of Kshs 50,000 or Us$530. this amount I have budgeted it to buy more stock to my shop. During December holidays I expect good business and that's why I am preparing earlier. I shall increase the stock of wheat flour which is highly used during festive season preparing a delicacy called "Chapati" together it goes with flying fat and baking powder.the consumption of other items is still high and this being the time when people enjoy themselves i shall sock beverages and soft drinks which i expect a good sales. wishing you the best this festive seasons
