About Me

My name is Betrace Mwikali.I a married and i have three baby boys.I am the first born in our family of five siblings. My parents raised me through hardship because they had no promising jobs by then.I went to syaolwe primary school and i qualified to join a provincial secondary school known as Kilili secondary school.Through my hard work and struggle of my parents i succeeded and qualified for government sponsorship in university.I joined Kenyatta University and i did a degree in Agriculture where i passed well with second class upper division. My important goal in my life was after school where i wanted to see my younger brothers and sisters complete their education.I used to help my parents in their farm every day and i can now say that am grateful because my siblings are through with their education. My business is about farming.I plant vegetables(sukumawiki, cabbages and onions)I came to start my own business because before that i was employed in an organization that was not paying well and could not satisfy my needs. The uniqueness of my land is that it does not rain throughout but it is one of the most productive area in the country. My children are still young but am sure they will aspire for the best in their lives when they grow up. My unique hobby is to help the needy people.

My Business

I provide sukumawiki, cabbage and onions. This type of business is useful in my area because most homesteads consume them in their meals. It is also in high demand from the nearest schools and the markets because its also part of their meals.I chose this kind of business because the area is surrounded by schools, markets and hospitals. It was of great value to me because i was to continuously supply to them. The cabbages and onions takes three to four months to maturity so i do harvest thrice per year.My profit per every harvest is KSH 40000 so per year is KSH120000. The sukumawiki takes two months to mature and the annual profit is about KSH 50000.The total cost of planting the vegetables is KSH 150000 including labor.I use my profits through reinvestment in growing the business.

Loan Proposal

If given the loan i plan to construct a borehole costing KSH 10000 (111 dollars). This will be of great value in my farming because i have been using the piped water that i pay for and it is usually rationed. By having my own borehole, i will not be paying for the water and also my vegetables will never miss water supply.I expect my profits to really increase by KSH 40000 because that was my water bill per year. Its also my expectation that the water will help the needy in my area.
