I am Oscar Ogata, a tech programs manager for a social enterprise. I am currently 30 years old with one daughter with a business plan of investing in a bookshop to fill in the demand for modern and learning materials for the many school-going children in Western Kenya. The earnings from the project will be used to stock the shop which is already set up.
There is a huge gap in the education sector in terms of tools for studying. This was caused by the recent change of education curriculum by the government making schools demand for equipment and tools that are currently not available locally. The business intends to reduce this gap by setting up a bookshop well equipped with the common books and tools. The profit gathered from this personal business also aims at helping improve the standards of the local football team hence reducing the level of idle youth in the society as most of them will be engaged in the sport.
I will buy broiler chicken from farmers and resell to hotels at better prices making profits and easing the farmers with the hustle looking for markets. the business will be operational in bungoma county and part of the proceeds will be channeled to micro development programmes in the vilages.
