About Me

I am Amoako Emmanuel I come from Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong- Ahafo region of Ghana. I come from a family of two. Myself and my younger sister. We where arroud six years when our parents who where traders died in a motor accident on their way to Kumasi to buy things for their shop. I was cared for by some family members who manage to get me through Secondary Education. From there nobody volunteered to assist me to enter tertially institution even though I had the desire to go. I finally settled on my parents business which was the managed by one of the family members. Capital for the business had gone done because of poor management so looked for a loan to continue and God being so good I have been able to pay back the loan and now I have a complete store full of things to manage. The people of Dormaa Ahenkro are very hardworking. The major occupation for the people is poultry farming whilst the neighbouring villages grow both cash crops like cocoa and cashew nuts and also grow foodstuffs like plantain, cassava, okro, pineapples etc to sell every Tuesday. Tuesday of every week is a market day and people especially farmers from nearby bring their foodstuffs for sale and they use the monies the get to buy other items they may need when they return. People of Dormaa Ahenkro especially the young men still practice polygamy. I have two children and the first born saids he wants to a pilot whilst the junior girl wants to become a medical doctor. I like singing and reading story books.

My Business

I sell so many clothes in my shop, especially men's wear, ladies underwear, singlet's, shoes, belts etc. The things I sell make it easy for people expecially who live arround Dormaa municipality get access to nice things to buy instead of travelling all their way to the Berekum and Suyani. Apart from the profits it gives me,people also feel released when they are able to get what they want at any point in time. I decided to go into this business because my parents were already into and I developed the interest the interest to continue. I also saw that the store which was situated at Tuesday market could yield me some profits if it is well managed because the place becomes choked with people from all walks of life on every Tuesday to buy and sell new things like shoes, shirts etc back to their villages. I initially went for a loan of ghc5000. I make sales of ghc350 daily and more on market days. I use part of the profit I make to pay school fees, part to reinvest in my business and the rest to buy clothes for the family.

Loan Proposal

I want to buy new shoes at $35, ladies underwears at $25, trousers at $25 and hang bags at $25.I should be able to serve my customers better than before because of these new items and that I should be able to increase my customer base and this will increase my profits. With this amount, I expect to see an increase of 95% profit.
