About Me

I am businessman, I own a cyber cafe and also supply internet within my region. I have also actively ventured into agriculture and poultry farming. I am committed to empowering my fellow youths towards economic independence and self actualization through self-employment ventures by sharing viable business ventures and ideas and working towards its implementation. I subcontract various freelancing services including online article writing but after relocating to my rural town in Bungoma I have ventured more on farming and poultry.

My Business

I have been able to venture full-time on agriculture after testing the fruits of my sweat in this field. I'm currently doing farming on my small piece of land where I plant vegetables for domestic and retailing. I have also ventured into poultry farming rearing both local and improved breeds of chicken known as kuroilers. I currently have 300 birds and am planning to venture into serious large scale poultry farming with a projection of over 1000 birds in a span of one year. I have grown in terms of skills and hands on prowess when it comes to poultry farming and I am more confident than ever that this is what I purpose to do as a career, hobby and interest. I, however, need proper housing structures and equipment for feeding and waltering. I also need an incubator because I want to start selling chicks to other farmers in my area.

Loan Proposal

Hello lenders,

I want to start by thanking you the lenders for the continued support you have offered to me since I enrolled as a member of the Zidisha family back in 2014, from my previous cybercafe project I have managed to get capital for this poultry project thanks to Zidisha. I have a loan proposal for my poultry farming that I recently ventured in. I have 16 kuroiler birds and 10 local breeds; would like to increase the number of my kuroiler birds to 60 for my poultry farming venture to be economically viable. Kuroilers are hybrid birds that have indigenous characteristics but grow much faster and lay more eggs than the local breeds. I will also need to restructure their house to accommodate more birds and to acquire a proper poultry housing designer, buy more feeders, water pots and drinker, poultry cages and coops. With the loan I will allocate $230, to establish a well designed structure for my birds with all the feeding equipment in place to enable my project run seamlessly. What remains after building will be used to purchase more birds am working with a figure of 50 one-month old birds going for USD. 2.00 per bird that translates to USD 100; with plans for further expansion as the project proceeds forth. With your continuous advice and support I am positive that this venture will be fulfilled and be a blessing to my family and the society at large. Thank you lenders as you plan to support my project, shalom.

Patrick Obiero.

Hello support team, please note that I have never defaulted in any of my zidisha loans for the 5 years that I have been a member and now am informed that I cannot raise another loan because of CRB listing by another institution which apparently is the higher education loans board's loan that I was listed after college back in 2015 as I had not been employed and didnt have a source of income. For this reason, am trying to establish my niche in the self-employment sector to be empowered as I could not get employed in the formal sector despite numerous applications! Kindly allow me post my loan proposal for funding.
    Here is my project

Hello lenders, I first and foremost want to thank you for believing in me and in my project proposal. I wish to bring to your attention that the loan you funded me has gone a long way to transform my life, that of family and my community at large. Through my agribusiness venture, I have been able to supply eggs to the local retailers in my area and to the locals who used to walk long distances to the nearest market centre. I hereby want to sincerely thank you for funding my project that has enabled me impact positively to my community as well as earn a reliable source of income to meet the needs of my young family. Thank you once again for believing in me even as I aspire to grow more and expand my boundaries in as far as poultry venture is concerned.
    Regards,
    Patrick.

    Hi lenders,
I want to first and foremost thank you all for being so instrumental in funding my poultry project. It was a good experience being the first time to rear hybrid chicken for commercial purposes and I must say that it was indeed a worthwhile venture. Though most of my poultry succumbed to illnesses I believe that am now at a better position to manage my poultry and emerge as a successful farmer owing to the hands-on experience and exposure that I have since amassed for the past one year. I now have a good structure that and would wish to purchase another lot of young chicks and take consequently take this venture to another whole new level. I pray that you will walk with me through this journey till I make it big through my farming venture. Cheers to all zidisha lenders out there!!

Hi lenders am doing well with my businesses, I have ventured in small scale farming planting food crops and tomatoes on small scale plus poultry farming but very few birds as a couple of them died while still young chicks. I am planning to buy another lot of crossbred chicks in due course, now that I have a big poultry structure at home . Hoping to expand my farming ventures and make it productive and more profitable. Thanks to zidisha family for support and guidance all through. Cheers.....
