About Me

My name is Esther Wanjiku Kariuki. I come from Bahati centre, Nakuru county. Bahati is approximately 18 Km from North of Nakuru Town. I am married to and a mother of one child who is at school. I am a hair dresser where i own a salon and sell cosmetics in the shop. When i completed my course i saw that i could start a small business to satisfy my needs such as educating my child and other basic needs. From the earning i get from the business, i am able to pay school fees for my child, and add stock to the business.

My Business

Pinkrose Hair Salon is the name of my business. The business involves hairdressing and sell of cosmetics, hair braids, weaves, earings, necklaces, hair foods, bungles to my clients. i also does hair treatments to the customers which makes my business unique in the area. I also do manicure and pendicures to the clients. Recently i have started selling ladies outfits which has high demand in the area. I have one employee who assist me in the business.
I a month the business generates a daily income of Kshs. 1000 which translate to about Kshs. 30,000. I pay house rent at Kshs. 5,000, electricity bills of Kshs. 2,000. employee Kshs. 5000, school fees Ksh. 2000. Kshs.10,000 is used to stock the business and this leaves me with a profit of Kshs. 6000. The risk that my business faces in competition from other similar businesses which is the main reason why am applying for the funds to be able to stock more items in my salon.
