I was born in a family of ten.I am the firstborn son of my parents who died while i was in high school. After they died i relied on my aunt who m i lived with for 10 years.I also did chores for people in order to raise fees and managed to pass my high school exam despite the difficulties i was facing,i was also taking care of my orphaned siblings .My father (Eliud Wafula) and mother (Rose Nakhumicha) had passed, leaving behind 8 of us and it wasnt easy at all. Even though we tried our best my siblings dropped out of primary school due to inadequate support and we had to look for ways and means to provide for ourselves food and clothing.I was employed by someone as a boda-boda rider, and rode his motorbike then finally i saved money and bought my own.Having that motorcycle was a stepping stone towards saving for my college fees.I studied Ecde and after the course I started my own ecde centre.
I own a TVS motorbike which i use to carry customers to and from their homes and workplaces after teaching my pupils .I am also a small scale farmer of maize and beans.I earn about 300ksh (3$) per day from my motorbike earnings which i use to feed my family of 2 children and also help support my brothers and sisters.I am determined to succeed and see my own children grow upto to become educated and responsible adults in Kenya.I am saving my money towards involvement in more farming.A major setback is that the two roomed class has collapsed and my pupils are learning from under a tree.
This loan will be used to built a classroom for children to learn from because as at now the one which they were learning from collapsed.Rainy season is approaching and am afraid learning may stop.
