About Me

I am Douglas Effah, a twenty-eight year old young man. I hail from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. I am fair in complexion . My parents are Mr Bediako Asare and Mrs Joyce Ankamah. I am the second born of the five children of my parent. I am a teacher,I worked for four year as acting headteacher and later gained an admission to further my education at the University of Education Winneba . I am currently in my final year.
My hobbies are; reading news from online, playing computer games , watching football match and making friends all over the world.

My Business

Orange Farming
I started orange farming after my College Education. Farming is something I have interest in right from childhood. I opted for it simply becauase my parents main occupation is farming and for that matter has a large pieces of farm land. So aquisition of land was not a problem. I have been continously planting oranges for the past 5 years and I am now having about 8 acre land of orange plants. Those ones I planted in my first year has started bearing fruits and is amazing how people troop in to buy it. I am currently having five(5) permanent workers and employ 5 casual workers during harvest time. The need has arisen to make expansion of the farm since there are still land to work on . I am therefore pleading to Zidisha Lenders to support me make my dream be a reality.

REPAYING OF LOAN
Because people patronize the product very well, I am able to make profit and can pay the loan from the profits. Aside this, I am a teacher and for that matter,I receive a monthly salary with which I can service the loans I am given. I therefore assure the lenders and the organization as a whole of my commitment to repaying every loan I will be granted.
Thank you.

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan in the area of bush fire prevention. Due to the longness of the dry season this year in this part of the world, many farms have come under the serious threat of bush burning causing a lot of farms to burn coupled with the scorching of the sun which has also caused a lot of the plants to wither. With the help of the earlier loan I took, we were able to construct more fire belts around the farm which helped us to prevent the farm from burning each time the fire posed a threat. In order not to toil in vain, there is the need to put in place more emergency measures to help control the fires til the rains come. We will therefore need barrels of water, watering cans and other pumping machines which are estimad a little over 300 dollars to help us be on guard any time we are called upon by the the fire since the threat it poses is now very tremendous that the fire belts alone wouldn't be enough hence this application.

I will use the amount to help with the spraying of the farm in order to prevent insects and other harmful rodents from destroying the fruits. This will help increase the yields and prevent pre harvest losts which has been the case over the years. I am once again grateful to all the lenders for their trust and regular support.
