My life as a young kenyan was not easy,I was born To HIV positive parents who passed on when I was 5 years old . I am the second born in my family and we are only two children. I was born HIV positive and I did not know until when I was in class 7 . I could always fall sick often and I got curious about the drugs I was taking on daily basis. Finally the doctor broke to me the bad news one day. I went through a lot of counseling and I accepted my situation finally. I finished school and went for a certificate course in HIV testing and counseling. I work for an NGO on part time basis for 16 hours per week.
I started my cloths business two years ago because I had a lot of time with me since my job as a counselor is part time. I used my savings to buy second hand cloths for sale. I buy the cloths from Nairobi where they are cheaper and resale them in my town. The business is doing well and I am planning of making it bigger.
I do not have a child ,but have a boy friend with who we share a lot . He is also positive ,He loves me and I love him. My dream is having an HIV negative child.
I do a lot of motivational talks and guiding and counseling in schools, hospitals and children homes ,just to encourage others that being HIV+ is not a death sentence and you can always survive if you set your mind positively.
I sell second hand cloths in my rented business premise. I sell latest designs that are popular with the youths and fast moving.
The demand for clothing is high due to growth in population and need for cheap descent clothing.
i choose these business because it is easy to manage and profitable. my typical costs per month are $300 and my sales per month is $500. I use the money to reinvest in the business, finance my tours to schools ,churches ,hospitals, and children homes to talk to people and give motivation to people leaving with HIV. I also pay school fees for my boy friend who is studying social work at the college since he is an orphan.
I salute you dear lenders . I am new in zidisha and thankful for the good work you are doing . I am kindly requesting for loan to boost my business by adding stock. I would use the $95 to buy a bale for second hand cloths and sale it . The money will help me enjoy economies of scale and help me reduce my trips to Nairobi per month, helping me to save a lot of money. Thank you.
