About Me

My name is Lorine Kigunda, a 28year old fulltime business woman. I grew up in a family of six and managed to study bachelor of commerce (marketing option) but due to a huge fees balance I could not sit for all of my exams and get my certificate. I eventually ended up working for upcoming companies on commission for goods i sold and managed to save some money that i started with a second hand clothes business that i hawked from house to house and moved from market to market depending on market days. I then saved and rented this shop, that i am currently running. I started off with the mpesa, then slowly by slowly added the stock in it. When am not busy i do online writing although my laptop broke down a month ago and i have not been able to repair.

My Business

I run an mpesa (money transfer) and malimali (electronics, innerwears, cheap footwear, utensils, cosmetics...e.t.c) business in which i have subdivided the room to leave a small space for barber/salon services. My business helps me meet my bills like house rent, school fees for my son, food, electricity, water e.t.c. I chose to do all these under one roof so as to increase income and be able to educate my 2sons. The business is also unique in the area and the demand for such goods is quite high since they are needed in every household every day. The mpesa earns me roughly ksh 10,000 a month as profit while the malimali earns me a profit of around 8,000 to ksh10,000. The barber and salon earn me around ksh4,000 altogether. The shop rent is ksh4,000 plus electricity bills of around ksh1,500 a month.
