My name is Winnie Achieng Owino. I live in Nakuru, Kenya, and I work at Mount Kenya University, Nakuru Campus as an Admin Assistant in the Admission under the Academic Affairs wing. I have a Bachelor of Business Management Human Resource Option degree. I am currently Pursuing a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. This is my second job as an employee.
I attended a local primary school just like any other child from the village. I did well on my KCSE and went to a provincial secondary school, where life was quite challenging because at this time paying fee was a hustle: I was even forced to stay out of school sometimes due to lack of sufficient funds. After high school, I joined Moi University for a Diploma Course in Business Management.
I am a mother to Dylan Muthomi, who is now two years and three months old. My hobbies are dancing, reading novels, watching movies and doing exercises.
I have been working hard in life to achieve my goals. I once worked at a firm and, after working for a long time, my boss decided that I should obtain my Diploma as I develop my career. Since then, I have become a business lady and working very hard to achieve my dreams. I have resided in Nakuru for quite some years and I find it a great potential place to work and do business.
My sisters and my two brothers reside in different places. My parents are back at home, also working hard to make ends meet. They have always supported me in life and educated me. I have to work hard in life and start supporting them too. I also wish to give back to the community when I achieve my dreams. Your support will be of great help to me.
My husband and I run a boutique in Nakuru town located at the Shoppers Paradise building under the name "Winkobia’s clothing.” We deal with selling clothes for both men and women. I have loved doing business and this has been motivating me to achieve my dreams. I also deal with clothes for models who need different designs, and I find this very interesting and enjoy this business.
I remember at the start of this business that it wasn’t easy, but my husband's words kept me moving: “Never ever give up: just struggle and all will be well.” I am looking forward to having an extra clothing sales shop. The reason why I want to venture into this is because I now understand what it takes to run a good business. I heard of Zidisha through a good friend, with whom I have been doing similar business together, and he encouraged me. This is why I am writing to you to kindly assist me to boost my business. I will be glad if you consider me.
I would like to expand my business and even one day introduce my family, as I teach my son about ways to survive even if you are not employed. Hard work always prevails if you have a vision and a mission to accomplish.
I have many potential customers who never let me down. Advertisements about my products are always done via my clients' mobile phones. I enjoy advising the youth on how to dress and most of my clients appreciate this. I have always wanted to expand my business but, at times, my profits only allow me to add little stock. For my clients, I always give them discounts but they are encouraged to pay the debts in good time.
Your consideration will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
I would wish to add a new stock to my current stock and I am optimistic that this loan will really help me. I am intending to purchase a stock worth 25,000 ksh, and this loan I am borrowing will be of great help to the current 15.000 ksh. that I have. From this, I am expecting to increase my profit at least 5% of the current profit margin in my business.
