My name is Joyce Wamucii born and bred in Central part of Kenya. I come from a family of three and my parents are small scale farmers. I attended primary and secondary school and later joined a college where I did a course in Food and Beverage. I later did a computer course before relocating to Mombasa where I got a job as food manager.
I am married and my husband is a businessman in the same town.
I currently work in Mombasa in a fast food joint and run a side business at the same time. I am a hard working person who is always looking for opportunities to grow.
Apart from my salaried job, I run a side business where I do bureau services such as photocopying documents, lamination and binding works. My main clients are college students who bring their materials to be photocopied, bound and related services. I also get a fair share of business from the surrounding population.
My business would be more productive if I offer more services like typing. For me to this, I need a computer and printer and my savings cannot allow me to do it for now. I therefore need this push in form of Zidisha loan to enable me achieve this goal.
I get a modest net income of about $200 per month but I am hoping that this will go up as the business grows.
The secret of success in my type of business is swift service. This is where man and machine meet and both have to be good in order to achieve fast service. I have a fast computer terminal (thanks lenders) but I now need an equally fast and high quality printer.
The printer I have in mind will print a wide variety of media like ordinary paper, thick cardboard and glossy paper. This is what most people ask for when they come to my cyber and this new printer will definitely be a plus in my business.
Thanks.
