About Me

my names are carolyne njeri githinji, from kariobangi south nairobi area. am the secondborn from a family of five. my father is a driver for a construction company and my mother sells vegetables and fruits at korogocho market. after finishin high school i enrolledfor a course in dairy farm products and currently i am employed by a dairy farm in kangema. my main work is precisely to carry out protein tests on milk before packaging. those who deliver milk to the firm buy it from small scale farmers then sell it at a profit. i also started buying milk from neighbours before reporting and it has helped me make afew ends meet especially in supporting my brother in school. if i get funds i can expand to delivering more milk to the firm.

My Business

i plan to be buying milk from smaall scale farmers around kangema area then sell it to a dairy firm at a profit. small scale farmers sell milk at 0.4 usdollars then the firm buy milk at 0.7 us dollars. the firm only buys milk in excess of 300 litres. i will employ two laboures to be buying milk on my behalf and be paying the 3 us dollars per day since they all be working for two hours. with such a labourforce i can manage atleast three hundred and fifty litres a day.i will also hire a pick-up track at 40 us dollars per day to deliver milk to the dairy firm for processing. total expenditures are as follows:
350 litres @ 0.4$ = 140$
2 laboures = 6$
transport = 40$
income = 245$
profit per day = 59$
i plan to use the profits for personal upkeep but mostly save to buy a small cooler which can help me deliver the milk to urban centers when still fresh and fetch a higher price
