I was born in a very humble family of 4 siblings in Marani Sub-County, Kisii County, being a first born in the family, I started my primary education in 1995and proceeded to a boarding secondary school since my parents could not afford to take me to a boarding school. God blessed me and I finished my O-levels in 2008. I did not proceed to college since we could not afford. By God’s grace I joined a computer college and did computer packages. In the computer college I got a friend who connected me with her friend who had a cyber, I got a job in the cyber café and worked there for more than five years. While working in the cyber café, it was difficult for me to save so that I could join college since my family depended on me so much and also my younger siblings since I assisted them to complete school by paying their school fees. Thank God the second born did his four
> In 2013 I managed to buy a second hand computer and a deskjet printer, and thereafter a friend partitioned for me a space where I started doing typesetting services for my clients. Since 2013 God has really blessed me so much and I have bought six more computers, Epson printer and a laser jet, and now I can offer internet services, photocopying, binding and the usual typesetting which I started with.
> Since I started the business I have really achieved most of my dreams from the business only, I was able to enroll myself as a part time student in Jomo Kenyatta university where am doing a diploma in information technology, my younger siblings finished his O-levels through my support, hence I believe in the business. I am sure when I expand it I will be able to make more sales and achieve my dreams, also I believe through me I will be able to one day sponsor a needy child to succeed in life and be able to volunteer my experience and make a person achieve his dreams. Coming from an inability home it doesn’t mean I have no ability of progressing in life just from my small business to big dreams in business since I believe this is just a start if I succeed to get the loan from zidisha organization.
> The advise from my parents that in a successful business you have to be hardworking, honest, ambitious, disciplined, patient and persistent on whatever you are doing as a living.
My business name is Presslink enterprises situated in marani sub county in Kisii County, I aim in expanding the business, so that I can own u pto 11 computers and sell stationery. I started as a one computer offering typesetting is now is now eight, with printing and photocopying services, also most of the stationery are available. i plan to increase my stationery stock so that can sell them to increase my net profit also in my new loan I plan to invest it in buying a car washing machine. This is a plan I have that we see my business employ two more people who will be working with me including my brother who will finish his secondary education at the end of this year.
I will buy two refurbished computers for my cybercafe costing 150 dollars each. this will increase my net profit with proximately 25% . The computers will increase the number of customers accessing the service at a given time
More people will be able to access internet which is a challenge to our locals here due to lack of internet facilities and knowledge.
