About Me

My name is Ruth Wanjiru Kamau, born in 1984 in Uasin Gishu, Rift Valley Province, Kenya. I am born to Rachel Nduta and David Kamau. Married and a mother of two children. I am currently in college and still doing business(Beauty Services/Beauty Products Supplies) in Machakos County. I currently reside in Miwani Estate, Machakos County, Kenya. My hobbies are traveling, making friends, reading in general, and church activities. I am currently going to college on vocations learning/school holidays to improve my grades in teaching career. Am very much interested in business/entrepreneurship, it keeps me engaged and helps me meet my daily financial needs in the situation of low employment opportunities and under-employment in Kenya. I love feeling beautiful and looking good too, and am sure everyone loves that too! To be beautiful means one must invest in it, that's why i make it easy for my customers and everyone by supplying the beauty services and products to them at all times. It's service to my customers and business to me, making a living out of it, changing my livelihood positively.

My Business

I am currently supplying beauty products to already established beauty salons in Machakos Town. I personally deliver beauty products to the businesses myself, and my returns from it is USD 300. I only have one part-time employee in my enterprise and my goal is to expand the venture and afford opportunity to open a beauty shop and lounge for myself and employ more young ladies to do supplies for me in distributions and marketing to a wider customer base. The business also supports me in paying my school fees and supplements the home budget in support of the family on daily or monthly basis. In future my dream is to operate the best beauty salon lounge and a clothing and shoes supply enterprise in Machakos Town.
Currently i deal with beauty products like hair shampoos, liquid soaps & washing detergents, hair chemicals, hair weaves, water eye pencils, make up brushes, face cosmetic sets, slim sharpers, perfumes, face powder, hair pins etc.

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to buy more cosmetics, hair weaves, and beauty care products to supply to my customers(salons and home delivery/Individuals) at an affordable price and make profits. In the beauty care business the more you sell- the more you make profits, and one must at all times meet the customers needs without fail, I can only make profits through making sure that stocks are available at all times for my customers. The loan will be used to expand my business by adding more stocks/products for sell. I am proud of this business, it makes my customers smile, that makes me feel good too! And improves my livelihood too.
In every round of purchases I use at least USD 161 to buy my supplies from the Manufacturers or whole-sellers, and after retailing making USD 268 to USD 300 per month. If I increase my purchases, then my profits will shoot up to USD 350 to USD 400 per month, that would be a big achievement, it would be growth.
