About Me

my name is Sammy Simiyu. I am 38 yrs old graduate. I am married with two children.I was born in a family of nine as the seventh child. We were brought up by a single parent since our mum passed on when i was six years. i was determined to succeed in life.i worked hard in my studies and I was always among the best. after graduating from the university i ventured into farming.I keep poultry and practice dairy farming . the money i get from poultry and dairy farming is used to pay school fees for our children and our up keep.i also save some money for emergency and recreation.

My Business

i keep poultry and practice dairy farming. I have 200 chicken, three dairy goat and four dairy cattle. I mainly keep indigenous chicken because t they are resistant to diseases such as newcastle.they are also easy to keep und under free range system.the only disadvantage of keeping indigenous chicken is that th they take longer to mature . however they have ready market. I also sell milk to local traders and consumers.

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to buy feeds for my poultry. I also intend to buy feeding troughs for the goat cattle.the total cost is around 100 US dollars. In future i would like to practice horticulture besides keeping poultry and dairy farming.I also intend to buy an incubator so that i can hatch chicks and sell them to farmers.

Thank you so much for funding my project. I am going to buy cross breed poultry. These are fast maturing and are resistant to diseases. They are also more adaptable to local weather conditions.I also intend to invest in poultry medicine and feed. There is much I can do with the funding and I will ensure that I prudently utilize it.Once again thank you so much.

I have learnt a few lessons from my last project and I am now on the right track. I am still pursing poultry farming and goat keeping. I have invested more in cross breeds because they are resistant to diseases and adapt well to local climate. I use the proceeds to educate my children and also safe for the future.
