About Me

My name is Samuel Onchari Nyambane ,Iam the 5th born in a family of six siblings. My family lives in Kisii and i reside in Kilgoris town.I work at Juhudi Kilimo as a business development officer.
I studied Agribusiness management at egerton university and completed my degree program in the year 2012 ,i also have a diploma in Information Technology from Elgonview college.Due to my passion in Agriculture i have ventured in farming of various produce e.g potatoes, beans and cabbages,am also planning to venture into poultry farming come next month.
During my free time i like to train smallholder farmers principles in farming especially dairy farming where i also have an interest in.I have published a small handout on principles of dairy farming which i share with farmers. My hobbies are playing basketball, football and reading influential materialls

My Business

My source of income is purely based on the agricultural produce that i sell.A season of beans goes for three months before harvest and a 90 kg bag of beans cost US$ 8,i harvest 6 bags of beans from my 3/4 piece of land.Beans demand has been high due to maize disease known as (maize lethal necrosis) so people have opted in bean farming.
The risk associated to bean farming is purely based on unpredictable weather pattern and crop disease which isnt that bad as maize.Have put measures to diversify the risk such as owning a motorbike which at times i depend it on transport business popoulary known as boda boda.
Since am also employed it wont be a problem in loan repayement.
My monthly cost are US$ 50 my revenue is $ 100.

Loan Proposal

Given the loan i will purchase fertilizer to use in planting of beans and also use part of the amount to cultivate 1 ha piece of land to increase my farm size.increasing the size of land will increase yield and thus an increase in revenue.
i want to increase my yield to 20 bags of beans which will see my revenue rise to US$ 160 and help me get a tender to supply to Kenya seed company in Kilgoris.
As my revenue will rise it will also assist me start my poultry project which has been my dream .
