About Me

I am the firstborn child with seven siblings. I was brought up with very many challenges the first being the separation of our parents when I was only 9. I had to start taking household chores left behind by our mother in order to allow dad to attend to his public duties as a primary school teacher.

This affected my development as a child and this went all the way to affecting my education. Being the firstborn I left school after high school in order to give room for my sibling to study as well, while I do ordinary jobs earning about $20 a week to help dad cater for their school fees. This has now become a challenge because I am now married with a child and the little money I earn from the few ordinary jobs is not sufficient to cover all these responsibilities.

I have been saving in a merry go round group that in March this year lend me 250 dollars which I used to set up a small shop for my wife so as to boost our little income. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with a chest problem and now have to depend on the earnings from my small shop. Our business is now going under, this due to over depending on it since we have to pay $20 dollars as was agreed with the lender and also buy food, and pay rent from the same shop. I thank God for having met Lawrence who introduced me to Zidisha which gives us hope in improving and taking back our business to where it is supposed to be.

My Business

I operate a small retail shop located in Kiamunyi just next to the house I live in. We stock household goods and food stuff that we unbundle and sell in smaller quantities. This allows us to make cash sales of about $35 a week with profits of about $7. From this money we have been able to service the startup loan of £250 that we borrowed from the merry go round, restock the shop, buy food and pay our house rent, leaving no money to save for emergencies. As it is now, our business is in dire need of improvement thus I have to borrow from financial partners to restock and expand the business which will allow us to be able to put aside a little money for other expenditures.

Loan Proposal

With this loan I will be able to buy more food stuff inventories ranging from 50 kg of rice ($40) to 50 kg of sugar ($50), 10 kg of cooking fat ($17), a bale of baking flour ($15), a bale of maize flour ($10), a carton of bar soap ($10), a carton of packed processed milk ($5) and a dozen of packed tea leaves ($2).

The returns from this will help improve my family's livelihood and expand my business. I believe I should be supported because I cannot afford to meet all financial requirements on my own, this due to the high cost of living and my incapability to perform manual tasks which has made life for myself, my wife and my child quite difficult. Thank you in advance for all your help, it will really be appreciated.

    Hi lenders,
I wish to reschedule my loan installments upwards. after receiving my zidisha loan and bought inventories for our shop, i joined a cooperative society that majors on youth in Nakuru and made some savings from the profits accumulated from our business. I'm happy to inform Zidisha that i received a loan of 800 USD that i have injected to my current business and hopping to invest elsewhere. And as am currently witnessing commendable growth after recovering from a health problem that almost took me down. I'll be repaying my cooperative loan on monthly basis after enjoying a grace repayment period of three months in which i wish to take advantage to complete repaying my Zidisha loan. Thank you

    Hi Lenders,
I wish to apologize for having not re-payed my loan installments for the last eight weeks. This is attributed to problems with my personal health that has completely disabled my financial status after putting whatever little i had into personal care. i'm feeling a bit better now and starting to slowly getting back to work. I'll reschedule upwards after i get stable.
    Thank you
