About Me

I was born and raised up in Kiambu County. I am married and am a mother of three children. I reside with my family in nakuru. After completion of my High school education, I could not continue with my tertiary education due to financial constrains. In 1994 when I came to Nakuru, I could not get employment. I resolved to moving within estates looking for casual work including laundry work. To date, I still do this work. In addition, I work as a Community Health Worker Volunteer for the Children of God Relief Institute which operates within my neighborhood. Late this year, I have opted to begin a small poultry farming business within nakuru town

My Business

To supplement my sources of income, I have opted to initiate a poultry farming business. Through my small savings in the self help group, I have managed together with my friend in the Group to begin a poultry farm project. The Project began last year 2014 with 30 chicken of local breed. I have so far managed to sell all of them and currently have a new generation of 50 chickens. These are layers with many of them having begun to lay eggs in March 2015. I make daily collection of approximately 40 eggs. This translates into Ksh. 440 per day. Increasing the stock will increase in daily revenue. There is a ready market for eggs within my neighborhood. Market for chicken meat is also readily available. I envision this Project to grow into a big poultry farm that meets the demand of chicken meat in Nakuru

Loan Proposal

This loan will enable me to buy more chicken to increase my inventory. Part of it will be used to buy feeding troughs for the new group of chicken. The increase in the number of poultry will translate into increase in my revenues. This will enable me to at least have a stable and reliable source of livelihood which will enable me cater for the demands of my family.
