My name is Eliizabeth wangombe. I was born in Kiambu county where i grew up. Currently i live in Kiambu town with my husband and one child. Growing up was not easy as i had to walk over along distance to school with my siblings. This motivated me to become a teacher to help children that's why after completing my secondary education, i started an early childhood development center (ECD/Nursery school) after going through ECDE college.
My dream is to see school grow into a center for education excellence for children.
I am running a nursery school for children aged 3 - 9 years old as a social enterprise. I started this business due to my passion to work with children. The school started in 2012 and it is located in Kiambu town.
The biggest challenge is when some parents fail to pay school fees for their children. This affects the school operations since i depend on the school fees to run the school. My goal is to build a modern education complex for children so that they may access quality early childhood education.
Working with children makes me happy and fulfilled in my life.
So far so good. My business is going on well. I am able to prepare enough food for the children with better quality. Although my profit is low because the children come from poor families and cannot pay alot of money for the food but down in my heart i feel happy for enabling to make a difference in the children lives. In a good term I make profits of between $ 100 - $120 which I use to expand the business more
The purpose of this loan is buy stock in bulk like flour, sugar and beans. This will enable me buy cheaply and thus make extra income from the discounts. This may cost me around $ 160. I will be able to provide quality and cheap food for the children. Since the school is a family business it will help in the enrollment and quality of education. This will enable my family make profit from the business and also improve the quality of education in our village.
