About Me

My name is Gil Ofosu-Okyere Nana Yaw, I am a 31 year old male. I have been completed Senior Secondary/Technical School at (Pope John Secondary School - Accra) and couldn’t continue to further my education to higher level due to financial problem. I was living in the capital city of Ghana (Accra) and currently moved to the second capital called Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to commence business. I have three brothers and a sister. Am the second born of my parents. My home is located ten kilometers from the Central Business Center called Kejetia. But my business markets all over the areas of Kumasi

My Business

I deal with used shoes both ladies and gents. I have been in the work for about eight(8) years from 2005 till date. My uncle used to send them from Italy but he is not in the good health so he has stop sending them for me to sell them. So I decided to join some friends in the market to help them sell their own and after we closed then they give me a percentage on the shoes I will sell. I have done this for the past 2 years and I used to keep the percentage amount I get and now I am selling my own shoes so I want zidisha to help me to expand my business and when I get the money it will help me to buy more shoes and rent a shop.

Loan Proposal

thank you all for my first loan. business is doing well. part of the this second money will again be deposited for the shop i wanted rent to sell my shoes at the Central market and the other part will also used to buy more shoes, to be added to the ones i already have so that i can get more customers since the shoes are used for fashion. demand is still very high.

    Dear Lenders,

I was able to meet Gil on Tuesday, along with Volunteer Mentor George Bonsu, to talk about his involvement with Zidisha. Gil's business suffered a significant setback last year as a result of a fire in one of Kumasi's markets, and he lost a lot of capital. However, Gil has a new job with which he hopes to pay off his remaining current loan. After that, he looks forward to using Zidisha loans to rebuild his business. We were able to reschedule his loan so that he is back on a manageable track, and look forward to helping him rebuild. I know Gil is grateful for the understanding and support he has received from his Zidisha lenders, and we wish him the best!

    Thank you,
    Taylor
