About Me

My name is Gladys Wanjiru from Kenya. I am a business woman living in Dandora estate , Nairobi.I was born in Nairobi by half cast parents. My father was a I ndian and my mother was an African, Gikuyu. My father however divorced my mother while was still young and everything turned to worse. That was the time when my mother started suffering and she moved to squeezed house which she could hardly afford its rent.My father was abusive and high tempered and she divorced my mother and left us to suffer and anguish in poverty. My mother tried so much and gave me the best education she could.I opened a grocery stall some years back and it is doing well.I had to borrow money from a women's group to help me establish the grocery business. The most unique thing in my culture is how people love themselves but care less for the others and the less fortunate. My son want to be a pilot when he grows up.My hobby is running when i am free for exercise.

My Business

I established a grocery business some years back and it has been doing so well in term s of revenues that i collect from it.I sell groceries as my source of income.I deal with all types of groceries ranging from paw paw, oranges , pineapples to mangoes and many more. This business of mine has a high demand because people in my city really like eating fruits and they enjoy taking all types of fruits and another thing that can depict that this business is on a high demand is on how fast i clear my stocks once i have bought them from the market. The reason why i choose this type of business are two, one is that i wanted a business of my own which i could be able to manage on my own and i choose on the groceries business. The second reason is that the capital i had at that time was only fitted to start a groceries business.I use an approximate of twelve hundred dollars to purchase the fruits from the market.I earn revenue of an approximate of twenty two thousand dollars from the stocks that i have at a time after deduction of expenses.I save the profits.

Loan Proposal

I have been very successful in this grocery business since i established it a few years ago.I have been making an improvement on the revenues that i collect from it every year and this has been quite encouraging .However, i have some few challenges in this business of mine despite the success that i have had in it.I have a weak stall made of local wood material which needs to be repaired. The roof of my grocery stall is leaking during the rainy seasons and my customers get dripped on by the rain drops while at my grocery stall. The last thing is that , due to the leaking roof top of my stall, the floor of my stall gets muddy during this rainy seasons.I have been unable to repair these damages on my stall as a result of not enough funds and i am therefore applying for this loan to assist me out in improving my stall by repairing the rooftop of my stall, cementing the floor of my groceries stall and constructing a new strong grocery stall. This can only be achieved through the intervention of this loan and it is therefore to improve the revenues that i collect from this business.
