I was born in Kaloleni Kilifi County in 1970 in a family of three boys and two girls. I grew up in the same county and attended my primary and secondary school in the same county.
After school I relocated to Mombasa in search of a job. I got employed at Habib bank in mid nineties where I worked for six years and left to look for better opportunities. After trying my hand in several ventures and doing vocational jobs in hotels, I decided to start a cafe of my own having acquired some experience.
I come from a community which likes safeguarding their traditions and I’ am proud to be a member of this community.
Some of my children have finished schooling but some are still in school.
During my free time I like listening to music more so from my community, Gospel and Rumba.
My business entails selling of food to my clientele who happened to be from the neighborhood.
The usefulness of these services is that I provide food to my clients at an affordable rate and also It helps those in the vicinity who do not prefer cooking at home.
I decided to venture into this business since I had had a stint in hotels where I got some experience in the running of a food outlet. I also knew such a business wouldn’t disappoint since in every day life people have to eat and no matter how hard the conditions one will have to get something to eat.
Typical running costs per day depends on the demand at a particular day of the week or month. I spend at least 80 US dollars and get a profit of, say, 30 US dollars.
I spend my profits by reinvesting and also bringing up my family plus a bit of saving.
i will buy at least two (2) tables and about eight (8) chairs for my food outlet. The tables will cost roughly 40 US dollars and the eight chairs about 50 US dollars.
This will allow me to take in more customers at once and will greatly improve my earnings. In addition, having new furniture will also attract clients since the place will look more cleaner.
I will expect my profits to increase in relation to what i have written above. My business will actually grow especially this holiday season.
