About Me

I was born and grew up in Kiptangwanyi in Nakuru County. Life was not that easy since my parents depended so much on subsistence farming that was not enough to take us to school and therefore we depended on well wishers who did help us finish secondary school. I was then married in the same area, unfortunately my loving husband passed away leaving me with our two children to take care of. I have tried my level best to date my first child did finish her secondary and got marks that is going to allow her proceed to the University, thanks to scholarship through organic health response. I have a dream that my two children will be able to attend school so that they can have better life in the future. I have tried very hard in the fish business something that has made us dress and feed well in our house.

My Business

I buy 'omena' fish from local fishermen boats, dry and then sell to local and mainland consumers. When the catch is low I sell to locals but when it is high I move with it to mainland markets. I have been in this business for now close to 5 years. Immediately my husband who was the sole bread winner past away I was left with no otherwise to be the sole supporter of my family. I was forced to do this business to help my family. The biggest challenge in fishing business is that sometimes there is low catch and during those times the demand is high both with the fishermen and even in the markets and therefore there is need of good capital which is a great problem since I do not have enough capital. I sell to both local consumers and sellers in the mainland. I have a goal to sell omena in bulk to factories that prepare animal feeds in the future. The little business that I do has helped me a lot with my two children since my husband passed away and now one of my child was able to pass her secondary school and awaiting to join the university something that makes me proud.

Loan Proposal

The purpose of the loan is to expand my business. It will add to my capital to allow me purchase additional sacks of omena and sell to the mainland markets. This I hope will increase my revenue and profits. I will therefore meet my customers demand. This will in turn impact on my life and family in that with more profit my children will dress, feed and go to school well.
