About Me

My name is Asare Erica. My home town is Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana in West Africa. I had my elementary education at SDA JHS in my hometown. My father was facing a financial problem due to that I couldn’t continue my education to university. I stopped schooling and went to help my Uncle in his poultry farm business at Dormaa Ahenkro. Helping my uncle really motivated me to become more skillful in poultry rearing and I worked with my uncle for couple of years. I was being paid every month and also I learnt how to manage poultry business, I decided to start my own poultry business at Nyame Nnae with the money saved when I was working with uncle. Starting my own poultry farming wasn’t easy for me although, I am a single lady without husband and my dream is to work hard so that I can provide for myself, support the needy, help my parents. I have a believe that with the help from my lenders in zidisha it shall be well with me. I am much interested in browsing and also doing research of new information about poultry farming. Thanks for giving me this platform to share with you about my story.

My Business

I am a young woman with a good vision that to start my own poultry business. In the year 2015 I decided to start my own farming in which I have been through a lot of challenges which was not easy for me. I started with a small capital which was able to acquire about 50 birds and now I have about 400 birds in my yard, and my problem now is the birds feeds, the price of maize has been Increased exteadly due to the bad harvest of the last cultivation of maize because of insufficient rainfall. I therefore want to buy more poultry feed to store before the price goes higher in March to middle of this year as it is every year. I am therefore apply for this loan to support my business in order not to sell the birds earlier than usual. Keeping the birds will help me make a lot of sales from the eggs I will sell. By so doing, my profit margin will increase over 30%.

Loan Proposal

Due to the increase of birds in my farm, it has become nessesary for me to order more poultry feed to feed the birds as well; thus why I am reapplying for this second loan to top up the savings I have in order to buy enough feed for my birds. I would be able to increase my sales and boost the farm to produce best birds all the time. I believe all will okay for me to pay back the loan right on time as I did to my first loan. Thank you
