About Me

I have grown up in the rural areas of western province of kenya. My parents have worked hard to ensure me and my brother complete secondary education and the main source of income was from my father was employed as a night guard while my mother worked as a house helper and most of the time we only managed to have one meal per day but this situation did not deter me from working hard. I and my brother worked hard in school and at home to ensure we excel in our various exams. After completing the secondadry education, I moved to Nairobi where I secured a job as a night guard and paid little but I saved most of my salary and paid school fees for myself to pursue a diploma course in catering as this has been my passion for long time. After completing the course I secured employment at good hotel in Nairobi where I am earning good salary but my dream is to own a five star hotel. I have established a medium size hotel from my savings which which involves cooking basic food and serving to the clients. Part of the profit from the business I save so that I can expand my business and have modern equipments and also cook varieties of food. My business is based in Kawangware 46 and I have employed 2 people who run the hotel on daily basis and recently after getting married my wife has joined the team as she has good experience of business management and over the weekend I assist them because I don't go to work. During my free time I like watching soccer and going out with friends to dance.

My Business

My hotel is based in Kawangware and I have employed 2 people and now my wife has joined the team and she has adequate skills & experience on business management who are responsible for day to day running of the business while over the weekend I usually assist them. My hotel involves preparing local food and over time customers have liked the hotel because of good quality food, good customer service and cleanliness. I intend to purchase modern equipments so that the quality of food can improve and also to reduce the cost of production and also produce in large quantity. The average sales per month is Kshs 54000, average expenses is Kshs 47000 and average monthly profit is Kshs 7000.

Loan Proposal

Am very grateful to the members of Zidisha community for trusting me with the first loan which is used to buy cooking items which have contributed towards increase in profit because of good quality food and reduction in cost of production. I want to buy a refrigerator to preserve and storage of perishable food items because currently some of the perishable items get spoiled which reduces the profit thus I kindly request members of Zidisha community to support me with a second loan which I will put together with my savings to buy a refrigerator at $ 214. After buying the refrigerator, I will be in position to buy goods in bulk hence enjoying trade discount and also it will reduce the cost of production due to reduced spoiled goods. I will dedicate my salary towards the repaying of the loan so that the profit from the business is reinvested in other items like more chairs, tables and TV set. Thanks for trusting me once more with your money.
