About Me

I am Richard. I grew up in Western Kenya. I came to Nairobi for undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi. In Nairobi, I have worked as an online marketing and tour consultant for 14 years. I run a blog at how.co.ke and an online business at hawlast.com.

My Business

I am as of March 2024 now back in Nairobi. My online business at hawlast.com is growing well and can cater to operations. I manage 30 websites for clients and get a small annual fee from each website owner. My services include search engine optimization, Speed optimization, and software development. The typical costs include hosting space for my website, rent, and internet connection costs.
Almost 70% profit from the business goes towards paying living expenses. This year I have got more customers and I will have some room to do digital advertising

Loan Proposal

I am getting more and more referrals from previous clients who are happy purchasing solar lamps. If I increase my capital I will be able to buy the lamps in wholesale price hence I will be able to increase the profit margins.

Each solar lamp is now USD 10.90 and I plan to sell each at USD 12. I allow the buyers to pay in installment as this is a social enterprise. I plan to do good to the environment, and also in the long run help them save on the lighting cost buy eliminating the kerosene budget.
